Pro Staff Question - Do Pro Bass Anglers Only Use One Type Of Fishing Lure Or A Variety

Charles "The Bass Doctor" Stuart's Answer

Pro Bass Angler Charles "The Bass Doctor" Stuart

Hi Brandon,

The short answer is no.

There are no professional anglers who use one technique and can say with certainly that it will work in every situation on any lake in any weather conditions.

Now folks like Mark Davis is known for his crankbait fishing, Kevin Van Dam for his spinnerbait fishing and Denny Brauer for the jig, but they also know every other technique in the book and a few you and I probably don't know about!

In Professional Fishing Tournaments It Is Vital To Know How To Fish With Many Different Lures

I found out early on in my career that the ONLY way to bring fish to the scales on a regular basis was with a full understanding and application of all the styles and techniques out there wherever I went fishing.

You must also be able to read the situation and adapt in minutes, especially when large sums of money are "on the line"!

To answer your second question, the short answer again is no.

I have not had the privilege of fishing in Colorado, but I am certain there are bass clubs in that great state.

I suggest you contact your local fisheries department or Bass Federation and ask them for details as they are always being contacted by bass fishermen for one reason or another.... (we like to aggravate the authorities who think that trout are the only species worth fishing for!) so I am sure they have a few contacts.

Tight Lines!
