Hello Dennis! Well you struck gold sending your question to BASSONHOOK , as I am also one of the professional staff of Gary Yamamoto Custom Baits. The Senko comes in a number of sizes and colors which I am sure you already know! The most popular is the 5 inch Senko and this bait can be fished in a variety of ways. Whacky Style. Placing the hook in the center of the Senko with the hook exposed. This is a great presentation for skipping under docks and lay downs . I would recommend a weed guard if there is a possibility of getting snagged on wood or heavy cover. Texas Style. Rigged as you would a regular plastic worm with the hook point " texposed " back into the surface of the Senko or Kreature ( a Brush Hog style bait) to avoid picking up pieces of weed. Remember the Senko is heavier than most other worms on the market and unless the wind is really blowing hard, I would not use any weight. Carolina Rig. Fished in the same manner as the Texas rig, but for deep presentation. I like to use a VERY long leader (4 to 6 feet) so that the Senko can fall naturally once the weight of the rig has touched the bottom. Drop Shot Finesse Rig. The ideal Senko for this rig is either the 3 or 4 inch model. The Senko should be "nose hooked" and allowed to move freely on the line. Gently twitching the rod will impart action into the Senko which the fish cannot resist.

Good luck and thank you for the e-mail.

Dennis's 2 question:
When rigging Whacky style, do you hide the shaft in the senko and do you
use a special knot? When rigging drop shot finesse rig do you simply
hook through nose and that's it? Thank you for your time and knowledge.
Hey Dennis! Just place the hook in the center of the worm so that it is hanging on the bend of the hook. I use a double Palomar knot, with a touch of fishing glue to secure it. You can find sites on how to tie that knot quite easily. As for the drop shot, yes right through the nose! Anytime you need us Dennis, the staff of BASSONHOOK are here to assist as many anglers as possible to catch more fish and have fun at the same time. Remember to take a child fishing and pass on what you have learned to them, so that this great sport can continue!

Dennis's 3rd Question:
Thanks for your help, but I have at least one more question. What size hook do you use with the senkos and brush hogs?
Morning Dennis! For the Whacky Senko I like to use a 1/0 OCTOPUS bait hook from Gamakatsu. For the Texas and C-Rig Senko or Brush Hog, I like to use a 3/0 EWG offset hook from Gamakatsu. For Drop Shot, I use a No.8 which I tie on the line myself, but if you prefer, Gamakatsu also make Drop Shot rigs. Ask your local tackle dealer to order them for you if they do not carry them, or go to www.Gamakatsu.com or www.SPRO.com for a dealer nearest you.
