$1.9 MILLION WAL-MART FLW REDFISH SERIES FIELDS NEAR CAPACITY

BENTON, Ky. (Feb. 25, 2005) – FLW Outdoors announced Friday that fields are nearing capacity for the new $1.9 million Wal-Mart FLW Redfish Series – the largest and most lucrative redfish tournament trail in the world. Up to 150 teams will be competing in each qualifying tournament for a share of as much as $200,000 cash, including a top award of as much as $50,000 cash.

Two-man teams will also be vying for valuable points that could earn them a berth into the no-entry-fee $300,000 Wal-Mart FLW Redfish Series Championship in Mobile, Ala., Oct. 27-29 for a shot at as much as $100,000.

“Redfish tournament fishing is a rapidly growing sport, and we are pleased that our fields for the Wal-Mart FLW Redfish Series are approaching capacity,” said Charlie Evan, president and CEO of FLW Outdoors. “The FLW Redfish Series will revolutionize professional redfish angling just as the Wal-Mart FLW Tour and EverStart Series did for professional bass fishing.”

Each FLW Redfish Series tournament will be televised on FSN to a potential audience of 82 million households, and with McCabe Productions, the team behind Florida’s No. 1 outdoor show – “Addictive Fishing” – heading up the coverage, the finished product is sure to be unlike any other tournament show on television.

“Everyone I’ve spoken with is wildly excited about the upcoming FLW Redfish season,” said avid redfish angler and outdoor journalist Rob Newell of Tallahassee, Fla. “When they find out that the producers responsible for ‘Addictive Fishing’ are handling the redfish television side of things for FLW Outdoors, they are just beside themselves with anticipation. This is without a doubt the biggest thing to happen in the sport.”

Coverage of the FLW Redfish Series will air as part of “FLW Outdoors” on FSN Sundays at 11 a.m. EST.

In qualifying events, teams will compete for two days to determine the winner based on accumulated weight. The winning team earns $25,000 cash based on a field of 150 boats, and if a member of the winning team is the original registered owner of an Aquasport; Champion; Hydra-Sports 1900, 2000 or 2300 Bay Bolt; Ranger or Wellcraft boat that is used during the tournament, the winners also receive a $12,500 bonus. Additionally, if a member of the winning team is the original owner of a Yamaha outboard that is used during the tournament, the team receives another $12,500 bonus for a total award of $50,000.

Every team that receives weight credit in a tournament earns points that determine angler standings. Two hundred points are awarded to the winner, 199 points for second, 198 points for third, and so on. The top 50 teams from each of the Wal-Mart FLW Redfish Series’ two divisions – East and West – will advance to the championship.

Each Wal-Mart FLW Redfish Series division features four regular-season tournaments.
